A KnowledgeBank Anecdote – What Goes Around … In 2000 we were involved in the Project Definition phase for a platform rationalisation engagement for a major UK Life & Pension company. This project involved the migration of 3 systems, 60 plus financial products and over 600,000 policies. As part of the preparation for the project we visited a competing Life Office that had undergone a similar process a number of years previously. Over a couple of hours we gained some very useful insight from the project managers who had delivered this project. At the end of the session our senior client thanked our hosts for their time but expressed surprise that they were willing to share such useful information with a competitor. The senior project manger replied that when they had started they visited a particular UK Clearing Bank and had themselves received very useful advice so were repaying the compliment. To cut a long story short we delivered our rationalisation project on time and under budget and it was seen as a great success by the client. This site has subsequently been used for reference visits a number of times – mainly for other Life & Pensions companies but once for a team from a particular UK Clearing Bank … <<back to About Us |
